I assume since you are a fellow new yorker that you won't be riding on much dunes. Since that is what the DS650 accels at, i would rule that out from trail woods riding. Now with the two choices left i would go for the raptor. I personaly don't like the idwea of not having reverse, and the raptor can kill the 400ex.

yea the ds is good on dunes but its good on so much more. Its great in snow and well some mud. As another "fellow new yorker" I would choose the ds or the raptor. personally i like the quad you have(the banshee) i think two strokes rule. But rotax can make engines. SO theres the ds. And yamaha is reliable and a great overall quad. Dont get the new zuki or the honda. THe 400ex is a badass quad, but from what it sounds like, You might get bored having the 400 4 stroke under you than the 650 or 660.

final words: DS or Raptor

i wouldn't call the z400 boring, even if suzuki detunes it fromt the drz400 bike form it still should be putting out around the same power as a raptor but in a lighter chassis, ofcourse, only time will tell, by the time you go to buy a quad though they will have def tested it.
