I only rode it in the lot out back but it felt much better then stock, and I can't get over how much better it looks!!!

RR660r, I got it directly from ProDesign, I think they are selling for $69.00, and YES it does shift better!!! It gave it a positive feel.

Since I haven't been able to find Prodesign's web page I'd be interested in their phone number if anyone has it?

Is there any way you can post pics of it? I hate the stock setup, and want something better. How does it get rid of the linkage? Bolt directly onto the shaft? Can you bring it up a little higher than the stock mounting position? I had to move the stock setup up a notch or two because of the graydon proline nerfs. It would only go so high before hitting the sprocket gaurd.

Thanks,
Dan

Swifty,

Have you gone out on a day's ride yet? What is your assessment now? Is it the same length as the stock shifter. I am concerned with it being any shorter since I have a size 12 boot.

Thanks,

Another thing to worry about is the increased shift throw. Yamaha put the linkage on there to make the throws between shifts shorter, so I heard. Because the peg on the raptor is high and then the shift shaft is where it is, when you get a direct link shifter, you've got to move it a lot more to get it to go into gear. Sort of a scary thought when a mis-shift may cause a tranny dog to go out. I got the UMI RACING shifter that keeps the linkage, but improves it with no play in the mechanism. It uses better U-Joints and also a busing and thrust washers on the pivot. I originally got the Roll Design direct mount shifter but it was too short and also hit the sprocket guard and the frame when shifting. That's when I noticed the almost 1.5x shift throw with a direct mount shifter. When you have boots on and the shifter is already adjusted high to begin with, this makes upshifts take a lot of movement to get it to engage. Just my experience. Let us know how it is swifty after a long ride!
