I need some new Rubber, all around, and new rims. I was looking at a Holeshot XCR, or maybe a Maxxis Razr. I'm not sure which to get, 20in, or 22in. I have 22in on my DS650, and I like them a lot. I could probably use the extra ground clearance, but with the 20's, I won't have a problem.

I do mostly Hillclimbing, Drags, and fast, aggressive trail. I also like to Jump. Which tire sounds good for me, and which size?

What gearing changes will be neccesary for 22in tires?

P.S: What size sand paddle tires are better, also?

I have 22s on my warrior and they give good traction but flex alot when your cornering hard and just dont want to slide right. Have to just punch it when it goes on two wheels then it spins that one and levels u out, atleast thats what i do.

I would stay with the 20 inch tire unless you have a good zero preload shock setup on your raptor. 22 inch tires will make it even more top heavy, but you will go about 85 top end on pavement. If you ride trails and like to jump stick with twenties and maybe gear down your counter shaft sprocket to a 12 from a 13 tooth. Makes trail riding a bit more manageable with holeshots.

18" man, so what if you loose half an inch of ground clearance, like that matters. 18" tires will make your Raptor very peppy. I might try 18" on my Z. I have no experience with different tire sizes I'm just thinking outloud. Any reason not go with 18"s?

I agree with 3TV, with the stock tires, I was hitting the bottom of the swing arm skid plate all day on trails. It's amazing how quickly you slow down when a rear tire falls in a small rut, and the skid plate starts dragging on the dirt... I have 22inch 6 ply Maxxis Razrs now. The difference in ground clearance made an amazing difference. The new tires also got rid of the tippy feeling in the Raptor. The real cause of the Raptor feeling tippy is the stock Dunlop radials. This is why a lot of people think that the Raptor is not tippy at all, with different tires it feels about the same as my 400ex in turns... I like the Razr's a lot, I put them on my 400ex also after I bought them for the Raptor. I went down to a 12 tooth front before I went to 22 inch tires, which helped the gearing a lot. Unfortunately, going to 22inch tires took me part of the way back towards the stock gearing, but air box mods and a White Brothers slip on gave me so much more low end torque that the gearing isn't a problem now.

Good luck,
Lorrin
