Default Another blown cv joint on grizz

I just knew it had to happen,it has happened to so many before me I just knew my cv joint would break also. But why 2 days before buck season? I guess it does'nt matter as I can't go in the wood before dark anyways as THE MACHINE HAS BLOWN 4 SETS OF HEADLIGHTS SO FAR(its an 03). I called yamaha and they said to place it in low beam when going slow as the bulbs get hot. What an answer. Yesterday the last 2 blew because as my mind was on trying to get out of the woods in 2 wheel drive, its all I had, and I forgot to put it in low beam as I slowed down once. I have no confidence at all when I ride as the odds are I will not make it back with out problems. Well, what do you expect for $6700. Maybe I should have spent more $ and bought a QUALITY machine. My dealer has been great though and I know its not his fault. Its yamaha's and they will not admit they have many'many problems with the Grizz. When it runs right it really runs though. I can't bragg about it any more to my fellow riders because I just eat crow later on when somthing happens to it. The wife is really impressed with it as well. She is helpful to have along on rides as I need to have her pull me out with the kodiak when my cv acts up or follow me as I can't see in the dark. Very disappointed with Yamaha.

Sorry for your problems Stormy. I don't think your problems are common to the grizzley though, I have had plenty of good reports with the strength and reliablility with the Yamaha. I would push the dealer or act under the lemon law.

As far as the headlight answer they gave you, that sounds like a real good dealer you have there, I would take it elsewhere for service and support.

Anyway, don't give up, it will get better...it has too;-)

I have always had a great expierence with Yamaha products and have never had any problems. Now, after spending lots of money not only for the Grizz but a new Warrior,Kodiak,Beartracker and influencing other family members to buy 2 new Kodiaks I have a little trouble. Yamaha knows they have a problem here and I should'nt have to fight to get the problems rectafied. It was'nt my dealer who said they would'nt replace the bulbs, it was Lisa, a Genuine Yamaha Service Rep.

Im with ya Stormy. The weak cv axle syndrome is going on with alot of the 03's including mine. I made it to 700 miles before my left rear axle went. Other than that, my Grizz is a beast!

Sorry to hear about your probs with the grizz. Kinda makes me glad I got the 450 Kodiak instead. I'm going deer hunting in the morning sice I haven't had any luck with bow yet. All I can get close to are does and yearlings. Good luck!
