I am 35 and when I race I look around and ask myself what heck am I doing with these kids. Last year I chased a 17 year old kid around the track, this year he's going to be chasing me. Ha Ha I still hold my own though. GREAT POST !!!!!!

 

I have the lead so far at 63! One of my riding buddies that also has a Raptor is 67.

yeah the smarts make a diff when riding with the kids, i have my hot tub, and make sure my little nitro bottle is shoved into my boot... other than that... go for it!!

perhaps we realize that we WONT live forever and ride just a little harder... I know I do...

RAPTORYFM660R-i also started out on dirt bikes and wish i could still ride the dunes on one but with a bad knee like mine i would be in trouble trying to kick start a dirt bike .not to knock the younger riders but if they had to ride the old dirt bikes that were around in the 70s they would sure appreciate the power and difference in suspension that we now have.my name (duneittilludie )pretty much sums up my outlook on getting older and riding i have a bad back and a very bad knee but i wont let that stop me and fortunately my wife feels the same way about riding.whats most enjoyable for me is drag racing the kids up comp hill and occasionally winning and then taking the helmet off and having them realize that i am old enough to be their dad.its all about fun right?

OK, I'm an old guy to, at 43. My son told me this year, "Dad this is the last year you'll be faster than me" I quickly told him, yah, "You may be right, but your gone to have to earn every bit of it, don't expect me to let you by." Currently he is faster on the hills with our Cannondales, but the hundred plus pounds has something to do with that. I can still jump on my highly modified Banshee and show him that my credit cards are King in the motor dept. Time is running out thougth!! My Cannondale is going to Southbay moto tomorrow to to get full mods. We don't give up easy.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

i'm stuck at about 25 myself. and i love the looks i get when i take my helmet off after waxing some kids tail and he sees my bald head adn grey hair. it's priceless!
