banshee's top speed
115 mph
just kidding, I think it is about 76mph. About all the top quads hit 75-78 mph from the articles I have read.
I would run a banshee through several heat cycles, let it run and get good and hot, then let it completley cool. Do that a few times, then run it around, not exceeding about 1/2 throttle, let it get good and hot, maybe a few short full throttle bursts. Let it cool good, in between a few rides like that, then give it hell.
I think it is on the duncan racing web site that I read a break in procedure that is something along the lines I just wrote.

Your 87 Banshee does 85 ? I guess my Raptor does 100 then. I raced my friends banshee and from first gear on I was ahead of him. There was a time when we were just riding and he has his in 6th gear and i was about 9 quads behind him, I put it in 5th and flew right by him. So for all you Banshee riders that talk smack, go back home and buy a real quad that dosn't break down every other day. I also had to tow his home because it shut off while he was riding and it wouldn't start back up again. Some serious carb problems. As for Banshees starting off the line better, I dont think so.
