Mounting tires on rims?

I plan on purchasing new rims for my raptor, can tires be dismounted from the old rims and mounted on the new rims without a tire machine? Tips, procedures, facts, dos, and dont's are welcome

It can be done without the help of a tire machine, however you will need these supplies

-tire irons 2-3
-bead lube(shaving cream works well
-work surface
-12pack of beer
-every cuss word known to man

have fun!

Bribe a friend to do it. Then you can drink beer and watch him sweat and cuss. Or you can buy your own machine. I checked out a couple of dealers at the Indy show and for a mere $1895, show special of course I could be changing all the tires I desire with no effort at all. Mastercard would love that huh.

its a cake walk. Just use a rim clamp machine with a side bead breaker. You have to leave a little air in the tires to break the bead because the sidewalls are so flimsy. Break one side then put just alittle air in and break the other side. Any tire shop can do this for you, if the have the know how. The tire come off the rim fairly easy. Kick the guy a the tire shop $10 or $20 to do it for you and you will have a freind for life.

I called my local Yamaha dealer and they want $42.00 a piece. WTF are they smoking. Can you use a regular tire machine for mounting car tires?
