That last post is the key! No manufacturer or major builder will tell you to break it in like this. Does that make it the wrong way.......I didn't want to find out. Better safe than sorry in my book, especialy with Yama-one ride-ha.

yeah but what that article is saying is your actually being safer and have less of a chance of being sorry if you do it the other way. It says that teh traditional way it doing irreprable (sp?) damage.

Look, all i wanna do it take care of my quad the best way humanly possible. That why i spend so much time in these forums.

Does anyone have a good reason why the other way is better than the manufacturer's but the manufacturer doesnt change??? thanks

Break in creates lots of debre....I recommend changing the oil several times during break in.....that will result in less wear due too less contaminents in the oil. Have the valves adjusted at 20hrs too and always burp it gently.

i agree with gary about the debrie from break in. i replaced my stock oil tank and pulled out the oil pick up screen and found medal shavings stuck to the screen. you might want to check it so the shavings start floating around and cause unnessasary wear. only about 15-20 hours on my raptor.
