Shorter and lighter tires should help you out in both places. Those big heavy tires sure do sap hp, and heigth raises center of gravity and gives a lot of sidewall roll. Holeshot mx's or something equal should be a major improvement. And as far as dragging 30 lbs is supposed to be equal to 1 bike length at 300', and 1 lb tire weight since it is rotating mass is supposed to be equal to 7 lbs of dead weight on the bike or rider.

These #s are what the dirt draggers live by, right or wrong lighter is faster!!!

Hope this helps,

Dave

The old stock Dominators are the worst tire ever made, ask anybody. The rubber compound is so hard the will not hook up for crap. Ive also heard they were the main reason for the DSs high speed twitchiness, more than the a-arm geometry.

You didn't mention wheel protection, may have to sacrifice a little for more performance!

XCRs would be better for you, can keep protection, increase performance but will only save a little weight.
