I think your dealer is looking for a rim sale. My friend put on 11.5" wide swamp witches on his stock rims of his 2wd Kawasaki 300 Lakota years ago without a problem.
I would think your 1000 4x4 can do a extra half inch.

My little 350 with standard 7.5" rims went from stock 10" tires to 11 without a issue and I,m sure a extra 1" to 12" would of made no difference.

Like I said call a tire shop that's their business . Make sure you know your rear rim width and tell them its a 12" Radial in case that matters after all they are the guys installing the tire and they know their stuff more then a ATV dealer.

I'm running 27" bighorns on stock Yamaha rims with no issues. Also ran another set on stock Suzuki rims. The dealer wants a sale

Scubasonic,

I, along with many others, are running front 26X9X12 and back 26X12X12 on Grizzly 700 stock rims. Those stock rims are 12x6.0 (front) and 12x7.5 (rear) without any problems. I run 6.0 psi front and 6.75 psi rear and no air loss or again, no other issues. Stock tire sizes are front 25X8X12 and back 25X10X12.

The original Maxxis Bighorn's do hook up extremely nice on the very rocky terrain I am on...very pleased with them and the size I went with...no regrets on the purchase.

RedRocket204,

Just curious are you using the Radial Bighorns or the 2.0

I am running the original radial, non-2.0, Bighorns. I believe the 2.0 Bighorns are also radials but they are lighter weight and also have less tread depth. I wanted longevity so went with originals.

They will be tubeless.

No worries on the questions. Last I recall, no one was born with the information.

I try to help when I can with actual experience but I am relatively new to the quad scene too.
