ktm 525xc questions
I don't know, since you quoted 3 people in the above post, who is the idiot again? Stock vs stock a 500 Predator is not in the same league as the 525xc. It would be closer to the 450, but would most likely lose to that one as well. Polaris went to KTM to build them a competitive motor, as the 500 is a slow revver(comparing to the Jap 450's) and is heavy. Notice the 500 Pred no longer exists in the lineup? It does not produce 50HP at the wheels in stock form, no way, no how. If yours does, fine, but the above posters have compared to a stock Pred 500 as we have no idea what has been done to your quad. Furthermore, it is very achievable to get 55 hp out of the 450 class quads and have a much better power to weight ratio than a 50 hp Pred. You are not beating these built bikes based on engine performance. 60+ hp can be had out of a relatively stock looking Banshee, the really built ones are pushing much more. You are not beating these built bikes either. Furthermore, I have never dynoed my motor, but I have an '05 which is widely excepted to have about 37/38hp stock. A stock Pred 500 is close, but consistently will lose an 1/8th mile drag. I'm done bench racing, time to go ride!

So, Vrodpredator, what does your pred have done to it? I'm really curious now because you're very confident in it. I would like to know so we can all understand where you're coming from when you say you can beat all of these fast machines. We want the list that is done along with Dyno sheets. If you can't do that then all of your posts are in VAIN. Thanks, look forward to hearing from you soon.

I have no idea what YOUR quad will do, post your dynos and your mods. I know what a stock Pred does, Polaris claimed 50 hp in the literature but that isn't to the rear wheels. My YFZ has consistently beaten stock and lightly modified 500's and it has just the basic mods done to it, cam retarded, slip on, filter. I have gotten beaten by modded Banshees, Raptors, and other 450's. I know a STOCK Pred 500 will not hang with the KTM motored quads in the drags. You originally asked how the 525xc compared to a Pred 500, and that is how it breaks down based on my experience.
<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>ktm is just an outlaw with different plastics and a little bit different engine! </end quote></div>
These quads share basically the same engine, however the frames, intake, exhaust, and suspension are all completely different. Basically the only thing they share in common is the motor.
