300ex conversion. 400ex shocks, and a-arms on 300ex?
Cool, i didnt know the 400EX axle would prob. work, that saves about 200 bucks right there. Im about to buy some a-arms and i'll tell you how good they work. I donno about the shock mount and shocks though. Id rather go with works. But, i did here that ive you got a raptor shock you may need to get a longer reservoir hose so it can be mounted properly. Im not certain though. O, ive also heard that a shock from an 86 250R will work, or whatever one has the remote rezzie. And if you get plus 2 arms (like the 400EX arms) a guy on a seperate forum said that Banshee shocks would work.

I was going to post earlier but lost this topic. A friend of mine has put the 400 axle in his 250x. The 250's and 300's rear carrier is just a little bit narrower. He machined spacers to go in between the axle nuts and the bearings to get the axle tight in the carrier. It offsets the axle to the right by just a little. (not enough to notice) but otherwise works. I have installed stock 400 a-arms on my sons 300 and am now debating about shocks. (right now he's a string bean and the stock 300 shocks work well, but I know it won't last much longer) I believe we'll make our own wheel spacers for the back of his and not go with the aftermarket or 400 axle's.

How much more did it make it to each side? I may buy some 250R a-arms off ebay, i want to know if it would make it plus 3 or plus 2. Ive got spacers on it right now, but i race mx and dont wanna use them much longer b/c i dont wanna mess up the hubs and everything. I think once i get this im just gonna buy works shocks for plus 2 arms. They will prob. work better than the 400's.

You only use the Banshee shocks when you are using 400EX arms and using the stock shock brackets on the 300EX frame. (No relocation kits).
It sits the ride height perfect. But it's not a true bolt in swap however. The upper eye mount on the Banshee shock is wider so you will need to have it machined. And the lower eye mount on the shock using a different diameter bushing. Basically a trip to your local machinist will have it ready to mount on a Honda in no time flat if you don't have access to the equipment to do it yourself.
As for a "bolt in" shock using 400EX arms on a 250X/300EX,..there isn't one. All Honda sport ATV shocks will be too short or too long. So you have modify shocks from other brands to fit or use a relocation kit and use 400EX shocks.
