300ex conversion. 400ex shocks, and a-arms on 300ex?

Your son will notice a BIG differance with this front end mod!!! I'm using the 300ex spindles and they make my fronts sit just perfect! I did try the 400ex's and they made my fronts pitch inward up top something fierce so, thats why I put the 300 ones back on! I'm a trail rider so this set up is perfect for me and I can't imagine anyone actually using the 400 ones! Its just not able to sit properly because the 400ex lower A-arms sit out further than the uppers on the 300ex frame! Well you might find another fix for this but, I sure wasn't able to and to be honest my bike is tracking just perfect! So, if it ain't brike don't try and fix it!!! Anyways good luck with your mod! I used the Banshee stock front shocks so, I wouldn't need to use shock extenders! Thought it would make a weak point and that the last thing I need on a trail! If I could be of any help feel free to ask!

The Banshee stock fronts are WAY better than the stock 300ex ones!!! The shock is about 2" longer; plus has shock adjustment to help dial your suspension in! They do how ever require a bit of grinding to the lower and upper bushing plus the upper shock, part that the upper bushing fits into, needs to be grinded as well to fit into the 400ex A-arms! Sounds a lot harder than it is! Well worth it!!!
As for the rear shock...I'm using the stock Yamaha Raptor 660 shock! Shock just bolts right in and has a rezzy! As far as I know this is the only other stock bike shock that bolts on! Plus its a great shock...comparible to the Works shock but a hell of a lot cheaper!

Thanks Woody. If you think of any other tips let me know. Banshee shocks sounds the way to go. Keep from buying shock relocation kit. I got in a hurry on this and bought a pr. of front 09' 400ex shocks (2hrs. use) off ebay. Only $62 w/shipping in them. Ohhh well. Look for some banshee shocks now and keep the 400ex shocks around awhile for dust collectors.

This mod is designed for the 300ex so, I'm not sure about this mod working for your 250X! You might want to try posting your own thread asking about a mod for your bike specific!?
Sorry I couldn't be much help to ya but, there has to be a mod for that bike! It may take you a bit to find the right mod for ya but, it'll be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying new!! Best of luck to ya!
