86 atc 250r not running right
my 250r wont run right. it seems as though there might be an air leak some where in one of the gaskets ,but i just had it apart and put new gasket on it. so do i have to pull it back apart? i want it to run right but it just doesnt want to.
the reason i took it apart was because there was gas in the crank, and i think gas got back into the crank case because the carb kept flooding out when i put it toghether. would gas in the case cause this?

Definately, gas in the crank will cause this..... Pull the reeds out and unhook the pipe. Use an air blow tool and stick it in the cylinder on the intake side. BLOW & BLOW. Also, check the pipe b/c fuel will go into there also. If there is fuel sitting in the pipe it won't run right either.

actually it had no gas inthe crank and i found the problem!!!! I have a carb from another 250r that was stripped along time ago that i had the pipe and carb from. so since i have the pipe i occured to me that i need the jetting from that carb too. so i change the jets and now i am driving one of the meanest toys i own. before i used to smoke too and now it doesnt at all. i went from a 145 main jet to a 142. i dont really know why smaller jetting makes it run better though. guess it was running way too rich.
