Well, all I can tell you is to keep the 250R motor. It will be back soon.

I also don't see how you plan on doing this under $1000. You will have to buy, or fabricate so much crap for this project it won't even be fun. Where will you go for a pipe? Custom built. What about the airbox and intake? Custom built..

Dude, I'm telling you this is going to be a pain in the asno, that you won't like. Just save some money/time/heartache/numbness, and make your 250 motor fast. PM me for a hook-up

Well unfortnatl I lost the auction on that 500.

LSB heres how it was gonna go down, The $1000 have was gonna cover the motor, then I would sell my R motor that would generate another $1000 , after that the only thing that would cost me anything would be having LRD make me a pipe, and possibly the rubber mounts. There is nothing else I would have to buy. so with the sale of my motor, the whole thing would only cost me the amount of the pipe and some rubbers, under $500...... I had this all planned out...

Killer250R, not trying to be an asno or somethin, but you're lucky you lost the auction. After you rode that 500R for about 200 yards, you'd be pissed at yourself for building it. Make a fast 250. It's easy!

LSB I know your just trying to help me BUT quite a few people have done this, and some MX'rs are running 02' CR250's in there quads, they say that the vibrations go away once you get moving. Making all the brackets would be no problem cause of where i work.

You are right making 250Rs fas s very easy, but also expensive...I am gonna be running with a modded banshee so a ported 250R isn't gonna do the trick.

Killer, I think you are going to end up spending a lot of $$ and end up with something no one will ever buy for anything near what your bike is worth now and you might not even like it when you are done, but there's only one way to learn. Do it!

Put a banshee motor in the frame, I just talked to a guy today who put a banshee motor on an 88 lt250r frame. Just put a banshee motor in your frame. He only said he had to stretch the frame 7 inches. But with you access to the shop all the welding would be simple.

Killer dont be a retard and ruin a good R. Just because you work on a welding shop that doesnt mean that you will be able to put a cr500 motor in your R frame. You know nothing about what needs to be done. You know how much of a pain it will be to line up the swingarm pivot right, and the sprokets? THe cr500 will rattle all the bolts on your frame loose and crack it.

A ported 250r will run with modified banshees. A 350x motor never will. A month ago i had 9 new 350x motors but i sold them all to East Coast atv because there is almost no market for them anymore.

Rebuild your R motor. You can do it cheaply too. You can buy all the bottom end bearings and seals from service honda for 300ish, 200 for porting, 100 piston, 40 gaskets, 200 for hinson basket, 80 new clutch plates, carb 200, and labor should be around 200, cr reed chage 70. So for around 1400 you will have a awesome R motor.

You cant put the cr500 engine in your frame and then put the R back in if you dont like the cr engine. You are going to hack your frame too peices.

I think you dudes have the wrong idea, I am not going to be doing ANY frame cutting only making new mounts, I wil be able to slide theR back in it I don't like it, which I doubt....The motor wont vibrate as bad as you think AFTER I balance the crank, and weight the flywheel...the whole thing is gonna cost me $1300 and it will outrun ANY forwheeler around here.
