Yes its actually Robin (a subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries, which is the owner of Subaru) that supplies ATV and snowmobile engines for Polaris Industries Inc. Many of the factory oil filter boxes I pulled from the shelf had Robin on them. Of course Polaris has basically parted ways with Fuji and gone their own way.

Just an occasional ecm module failure. Fans would stay on or batteries wouldn't stay charged.Of course not included on ecm recall lists, but should have been. Other than that good oil cooled machines. But greasing was another problem. Almost all people missed the zerk on the rear prop shaft. Over a period of years the coupler splines would strip. It's a job tearing one down to replace the coupler.Dirt Cheap Yamaha & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

This should cheer your friend up Vehicle Reviews for 2004 Polaris Magnum 330 4x4 its reviews from owners and that is considered a good score.
When you see a lot of "one star" and "two star" reports then get nervous. I see only one 3 star report which is not bad and the guy is just complaining about power not reliability. Its a 330cc what did he exspect?
I do not see the 330 on the ECM recall list. http://www.atv.info/article.cfm?id=632 Sorry I see OPT mentioned it should of been on the list.
