drag raced a 660 Raptor...
On flat ground. On hard packed dirt and on pavement.
From a dead stop I believe it was pretty much even until top of 4th into 5th gear. The 660 began to pull ahead.
The 660 is jetted and piped with a tooth smaller than stock front sprocket.
My DS would have never let him ahead. We would be even all the way.
For some reason I thought I would have beat him. I know he has 200 more cc's, and I give a lot of credit to this little YFZ for doing as wel as it did, but for some reason, I thought I would win.
We did this repeatedly and switched machines with the same results.
Does this sound right?

How many hours do you have on the yfz?
A piped raptor with a gearing change may be able to stay even with a stock yfz until they get close to top end. Obviously the raptor has a bit more top speed.
Your YFZ will probably get faster when it gets a few hours on it.
Stock vs. stock the yfz will jump out to a lead and the raptor will eventually catch up and pass due to higher top speed.

dont underestimate the raptor 660! because when its pipe and jet, they're really open up. I'm sure if you race a stock for stock, the 450 would win,but if you pipe them both, the raptor would win.
I got a 14 front sprocket(1 tooth more) and pipe/jet and I can beat a 450r so easily.And im sure the yfz is like a 450r
Anyway,I just wanted to share my experience, hope you enjoy it

Thanks.
I talked to the Raptor owner today, and he says he spanked me. I said he was crazy. The first few times he was already out front and rolling. When we lined up at a stand still and gave it the 321 go, we were pretty even until the tall gears.
Oh well, can't win 'em all right!? In the woods, I will "spank" him!
I am just glad to hear my quad isn't a wuusy after all. LOL!
