Default 2008 yamaha YFZ 450

im looking at 450s and the only things i will even look at is suzuki, yamaha, and honda...so heres what i got so far
so far im lookin at YFZ i dont want honda and the suzuki from what i hear from all the test lacks bottom end power and top speed......
the yamaha has the most power or torque correct???? thats what im looking at most.....
so give me yalls input or thoughts......
oh yeah and shock and suspention arent a problem i will end up getting elkas and laeger a-arms and prolly a dura-blue rear axle
im looking for the fastest and lightest motor and chassis

Default 2008 yamaha YFZ 450

the YFZ 450 i think is a great quad it's light fast and has plenty of torque. it only weighs 350 lbs.

Default 2008 yamaha YFZ 450

I hate to say it being mostly a Yamaha guy, but the fastest motor stock is not anyof those. You are going to need to drop your coin on something with that awesome KTM powerplant in it instead. The other thing is that you are much better off buying the quad with the features you want and factor in dealer support as well. None of these is SO far ahead of the others as to be non-competitive; they are all easily massaged for more power through aftermarket.

Yea I would I got a 07' a month before the 08's came out I couldn't wait for the 08's to get mine sorta wish I did but man I love the thing best money I spent so far [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

^...well he's right ktm is an awesome powerplant, but according to you, you'll be buying things you won't need...since you want elka and some long travels, then the ohilins would be useless [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]...in any case, my opinion is the yfz does have the more power and is the fastest of all 3, but i like the idea of fuel injection of the suzuki better
