Hello ATV Connection readers, welcome to our latest feature! Due to the rising popularity of the Ask the Editor forum, we have decided to expand the idea and post responses to the homepage.

For those of you who are new to this, basically, if you have an ATV related question, you can ask our editors for help/advice. Create a forum account if you don’t already have one, then create a new thread in our Ask the Editor section. Click here to ask your question!

And without further ado, here are this week’s questions.

Dear ATVC:

I have a 2010 F150 super crew with 5.5 ft box and I’d like to install tie downs on the floor of the truck bed. Ford doesn’t carry anything, but it seems to me I should be able to replace the bed bolts with bolts that have rings on top. I’d appreciate any ideas!

Thanks,
James (Check)

James, you actually have several options at your disposal beginning with the one you suggest in your question. We’ve had luck swapping out OEM bed bolts with threaded eyehook units but in all honesty, this would probably be our last resort as it is the most labor intensive of your options.

Brands like Keeper offer affordable movable anchor points, sold in packs of 2 that are perfect for this application. You simply decide where you want them on, slip them onto the truck’s bedrail and tighten them down by hand.
Movable Anchor
We located a set of these on the net as low as .98 for a pair at the following URL:

Additionally, while the 2010 Ford F150 lacks dedicated tie down points, it does however have stake holes, which are perfect for installing cleat tie down anchors.

Cleat Kit

Rated for 600 pounds per point, these kits are usually more than adequate to keep an ATV safely in place.

These kits are available all over and we located one on Amazon for that works for your year, make and model:

Dear ATVC:

Where is the best place to find OEM parts for my ATV? I’m specifically looking for speedometer for my 01 Polaris Magnum.

Drewpul

At the risk of being overly obvious, the best place to purchase OEM parts is almost always the dealer closest to you licensed to carry the brand in question. Unless specifically requested for aftermarket options, you can be assured that they will have access to the Original Equipment Manufacturer parts catalogs that contain even the most obscure bits.

If in doubt, Polaris offers as a courtesy complete online access to their parts resource at http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.aspand while customers are unable to purchase parts directly from this site, they can however locate what it is they need (including the proper parts number(s)) to take with them to the dealership.

Online you have many more options of course such as http://www.polarispartshouse.com/ who literally specialize in OEM Polaris parts and accessories. We also have had luck using OEM distributors like Bike Bandit:
