5. Spare Fuel
Yes this is 2012 and we should be piloting vehicles fueled by hydrogen cells or pint-sized nuclear reactors but sadly, good ‘ol gasoline-powered internal combustion is still the motivator of choice for our ATVs when last we checked. And so long as there are gasoline-powered anything, there will be those who run out (and usually at the furthest possible geographic distance from a gas station).
Considering the fact that most ATVs/ UTVs net pretty solid fuel economy, even a small (5-gallon or smaller) plastic can of petrol tied down somewhere on your machine can make the difference between everyone driving back to civilization together and having to backtrack back to town to buy gas and a can while leaving the stranded vehicle in the middle of nowhere.
