Suffice to say, if the DS450 is the right quad for you, the standard model (as it was known in years past) or just X as it has become more recently, would likely be your best option for trail duty. It may lack some of the bling of the race-packages but it is designed to operate well in the greatest number of conditions without modification.
If you’re asking what Can-Am offers in the sporty performance segment of the market period, a valid argument could be made that every ATV they offer fits the bill. For 2015 they will be offering 10 ATV models for North America (each which can be customized with various goodies like the DS) spread across three model lines: Outlander, Renegade and DS (not to mention 5 side-by-sides).
Any of these will offer excellent trail performance with rear-drive DS series followed by the 4×4 Renegade representing the sportiest of the lot.
