Ask the Editors: Can I Turbocharge My ATC 350X?
To the best of our knowledge, no company (or even independent fabricator) offers up a bolt on turbocharging kit for the Honda ATC350X. However, that’s not to suggest it’s impossible. We have heard many stories scattered about the web claiming successful results in modifying snowmobile turbos to work on the three-wheeler.
Concerning the second part of your question (whether or not this is an easy modification), the short answer is that unless you are independently wealthy or a master fabricator, absolutely not. In addition to having to consider such things as building custom mounts, routing, fitment etc., you have to devise intense cooling solutions as the fairly simplistic air-cooled engine will be unable to cope with the increased friction a turbo will inflict. For the best results, intensive modification would also be necessary to the carb and exhaust.
Sadly this is one of those projects we would advise entering into at your own risk and even then, hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
One final note, some companies offer universal turbo kits, advertised to be adaptable to work on just about any machine but these come with a pretty steep cost of admission ($1500) and will require quite a bit of machine-specific mounting and routing.
