Indeed you aren’t going to find this ATV’s exact match no matter how thoroughly your scour Kawasaki’s product brochure archives. What this particular ATV began life as was a 1984 Kawasaki Tecate 3 (three-wheeler) that appears to have undergone a 4-wheel conversion at some point during its life.
While the concept seems rather ludicrous these days, back in the late 1980s and right on through much of the 90s, a few companies offered kits that included all of the pieces to turn a 3-wheeler into a four-wheeled ATV.
While increasingly difficult to find, a few of these converted machines are still in circulation. Whether or not we’d trust going full tilt on one is an other story altogether.
