Ask the Editors: Help Me Identify My Project Quad
Dear ATVC: So I bought this ATV for a cheap price but need help identifying it. I could not find engine serial # or any kind of VIN on the frame. Don’t know if the pics help. Jorge Ornelas
Based upon the pics, particularity the plastic molds, we would guess that you have acquired a mid 2000s Kasea ATV.
The exact displacement is going to be a bit trickier to determine via pics; especially with no markings or identifiers to cross reference. In fact you may end up having to resort to literally removing the top end and putting a micrometer on the piston itself to determine the exact engine spec.
We would narrow the search down to the Skyhawk series of quads; which came in a variety of sizes from a 49cc mini to a 90, 150, 170 and 250 option. Considering what appears to be a radiator in one of the shots, we’re guessing it may be one of the larger displacements.
