Ask The Editors: Bear Tracker Parts
![]()
There aren’t many, but they do exist.
Previous owner(s) were brutal to this thing. They hacked up the wiring, lost the carb and exhaust system, and when the rear brakes wore out, they ran sheet metal screws into the shoes in an attempt to create some stopping power. All they accomplished was destroying the drum.
Has anyone tried using a Timberwolf or any other model brake drum instead?
Well, we do have some good news. If you turn to our old pal eBay, there is a very active Bear Tracker 250 used parts scene. The rear right drum is parts # 4XE-F5310-00-00
If you pop this into eBay, you’ll find dozens in stock ready to ship, we’ll drop a few examples down below.
If you pop it into google, there may even be a couple of OEM parts distributors with new old stock units ready to go.
While we can’t recommend doing so as we’ve never tried, we do notice the parts # does come back to the drum for several of Yamaha’s models throughout the years, suggesting that it is indeed compatible with other models as well.
