How to freshen up all the fluids on your Quadrunner 250.

Dear ATVC: Greetings everyone glad to be on this network.
Does this quad have a drain bolt to change the shaft drive oil?

The Quadrunner 250 doesn’t use a separate oil supply for the final drive but it does have front and rear differentials of course.

The front requires that you undo the 4 bolts that mount the front portion of skid plate to the frame. Once that is complete, you should be able to locate drain plug on the bottom of the front differential.

To drain, remove the filler plug (located on the right side of the differential, near the top). Then remove the drain plug and allow the oil to flow.

Once finished, reinsert the drain bolt then proceed to fill the front differential with 80W90 Hypoid gear oil via the filler hole. Fill the front differential until the oil level reaches the bottom of the filler hole, reinsert the plug and refasten skid plate.

The rear differential actually uses the engine oil for lubrication so that your standard oil changes are accomplishing a refresh here. That is why you should be running oil formulated for a wet clutch.

The following video should walk you through the steps for a complete fluid change for your machine:
