ATV Industry Facts: Did You Know?
Just for duck hunters or the start of something huge?

Many of the features we consider standard issue on ATVs today can actually be attributed to Kawasaki’s forward thinking back in the early 1980s in an era when wheelers came a wheel short – from the factory.

It was the 3-wheeler era and while things like balloony tires, bright colored plastic and recoil starters were still the rage, Kawasaki released the Duckster based on their KLT200 model.

Designed to target the hunting sect, the Duckster came factory equipped with such rare amenities as front and rear racks, a handlebar loop capable of securing a rife and camouflage plastics/ seat cover.

Bonus Fact: ATVs have clearly come a long way since the Duckster and while many of the machine’s innovations have become staples, we’re glad that the trend of coming equipped with no suspension like the Kawasaki 3-wheeler came to end a few years later.
