ATV Industry Facts: Did You Know?

Another week another case of tariff trouble.

Representatives from the Motorcycle Industry Council, American Motorcyclist Association, Polaris and KTM recently testified at a hearing before the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) in opposition to proposed tariffs of up to 100% on all parts, accessories and 500-700cc motorcycles imported from European Union (EU) countries. The tariffs are a proposed response to a manufacturing dispute in the completely unrelated aircraft industry. We need to stand as a community lest pay for something that has nothing to do with our industry.

Tariffs are essentially taxes on goods imported from other countries. As it stands, the proposed tariffs would increase the cost of any motorcycle between 500-700cc as well as any parts or accessories (for motorcycles, ATVs & ROVs) that are manufactured in and shipped from EU countries. In fact, should a 100% tariff be imposed, the price of these products would DOUBLE.
