How old is this sport, anyway?

If someone asked you how old ATV racing was, would have you have an answer? The most common guesses we seem to get are that it must have begun in the late 70s/ early 1980s. Would you be surprised to learn the first EDT National took place near Cleveland, Ohio in 1969?!

That’s right, the year we put a man on the moon and the Beatles released Abbey Road, the first ATV national had taken place. Another way of looking at that? ATV racing turns 50 this year (in July).

So it’s only fitting then that the ATV world returns to Ashtabula, Ohio July 26-28 (2019) to celebrates the 50th Anniversary of this historic event. From 6 wheelers, to 3 wheelers, to the ATV, with some dune machines, Odysseys, and SxSs in between, this event has become more than just a yearly annual race but a celebration of all things ATV racing.
