The US Military relies upon ATVs pretty regularly and while the civilian units are certainly nothing to shake a stick at, the military units usually demand specific features like beefier structural design and operator safety standards.

Since its introduction in 2002, Phoenix International’s Prowler has been deployed by military forces across a wide range of combat, reconnaissance and SAR missions around the world. It’s also used in a number of autonomous robotic and remotely controlled applications, including IED and Mine Sweeping and EOD.
The Prowler is manufactured by All Terrain Vehicle Corporation, a subsidiary of Phoenix International Systems out of Orange, California.
Bonus Fact: As is often the nature of military deployment, speed factors heavily in many operations, that’s why the Prowler uses a liquid cooled V-Twin engine good for 75mph that can still tow 3,000 pounds with a 1,600 pound payload capacity.
