So it may not be the typical definition of ATV riding, anyone who has witnessed rally car racing cannot deny that it’s off-roading at its finest!  Need further proof? Look no further than wild-man Travis Pastrana’s participation or the intensity of this year’s X-Games event.  The good news for video game players the world over is that Codemasters Studios, the makers of the DiRT off-road video game franchise, has just released the official trailer for the highly anticipated rally car racing extraordinaire DiRT 3.

The game is set to feature snow and ice conditions, dynamic weather, YouTube uploads, split screen support, party modes, an open-world playground and more real-life sponsors and stars than ever before.

The rich career mode is rumored to have players starting off as a privateer competing in decade-old clunker cars before earning enough respect and purse money to access a huge roster of vehicles from super buggies and RAID trucks, from classics to the modern equipment just seen tearing up the LA Coliseum at X-Games. Best of all each vehicle promises to be more detailed and better textured than that seen in the previous games of the franchise.

Just like with earlier examples of the series, physics-based car tuning will be paired with exotic environments ranging from arid desert-scapes to twisting snow-steeped mountainous byways all with randomly occurring weather conditions!

“DiRT 3 delivers mud, sweat and gears world over: from the intense weather-beaten rally stages of Europe, Africa and the US, to executing performance driving showcases and career challenges where car control is pushed to spectacular limits,” says Codemasters.

DiRT 3 is still in the development phase and is expected to street sometime during 2011. It will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 game consoles as well as for the PC.
