Trails are the lifeblood of ATVing and certain companies realize that maintenance, safety and education initiatives, and lobbying to make land available for us all to enjoy doesn’t come cheap and go above and beyond to offer assistance.

Take for example ATV manufacturer Polaris and their incredible T.R.A.I.L.S. Grant Program that puts cash into the hands of those who can put it to use in the trail development arena.

However with a September 1st deadline quickly approaching, the company encourages potential applicants to apply quickly as possible.

Objective of the Program:

To provide grants to U.S. National and State ATV organizations for trail development and maintenance projects, safety and education initiatives, lobbying, and other projects to increase or maintain land access.

How to Request a Grant:

Complete the grant application form legibly. Grant forms are available on the Polaris Web site at: www.polarisindustries.com under the “Riders” heading then scrolling over

Polaris aims to issue grant checks in October.

GRANT GUIDELINES:

This grant is for initiatives that solely benefit off-road riding. Grant requests for fire, rescue or EMS vehicles do not qualify unless the request strictly benefits off-road riding.

Grant funding is limited to a maximum of ,000 per request.

Organizations may apply for two grants per year. All organizations must be 501c3, 501c7 or non-profit organizations (i.e. county, state or federal organizations).
If the grant is approved, a Results Report will be required as follow up to the project.

Upon acceptance of an application, a Final Summary Report Guideline will be provided. In order to be considered for a new Grant, ALL previous Grant programs must be completed with a result/progress report.

Grants will not be paid in full until receipt of a Final Summary Report. One thousand dollars (,000.00) will be held until the final report has been received.  When applicable, provide layout, graphics and content – some visual representation of the project that the grant will support.

Project funding or matching from other sources is an important criterion considered by the committee.  Polaris logos and photos are available free of charge to be used in creating print or broadcast materials.
