Mahindra To Develop All New Made in USA Side-By-Side

According to a recent interview in Barron’s with Pawan Goenka, managing director at India’s Mahindra & Mahindra, it looks like they will be the latest tractor manufacturer to enter the lucrative and competitive UTV sector.

While Mahindra already has seven businesses in the United States; the oldest being the tractor business, and the largest is Tech Mahindra, Goenka goes on to discuss a new plant the company is opening in Detroit already emploting 170 engineers.

The first vehicle planned on launching from the new Detroit facility? “We are launching an off-road utility vehicle. They are used for hunting, farm work, and some of the vehicles are fairly refined. It is being designed now in Detroit, branded Mahindra,” Goenka said.

Mahindra also plans to double the company’s American employment to roughly 5,000 people within the next five years.
