Return Of The Sport Quad

It’s coming close to reality!
The US has done the sport ATV class dirty. Throughout most of the history of ATVing, the manual clutch, rear drive sport machine has been a viable choice for riders looking to blast around the trails during the week and even possibly have some trackside fun on the weekends.
Looking back through history, you find a disturbing pattern – they rise up, sell like hotcakes, then government regulation gets involved and they disappear. The EPA in particular can make certification a real hassle, tying up both a company’s finances and time.
These days Yamaha is the only major manufacturer still keeping it real in the sport class with the Raptor 700R (and race-ready YFZ450R). And, while we’re grateful they are still offering riders the option to enjoy a manual clutch sport quad, the 700 is more an open class quad not for the feint of heart.
The industry is clamoring for smaller, performance oriented manual clutch models and it’s looking like there are two candidates to respark the class on the horizon.
1) Denago Daytona 250 FI

Fuel injection, fully adjustable nitrogen charged suspension, electric start, LED gauges, hydraulic disc brakes all around, factory hand-guards and tether kill switch – the Daytona is race-ready for more tracks right out of the box!

Best of all, its already available now for an MSRP of $2,499.
2) Kayo A300

First the bad news: The A300 exists but only in Europe at present. Now the good – Kayo is establishing a US dealership network as we speak. We’re hoping the A300 receives the green light for import for next season.
The A300 boasts a liquid cooled, fuel injected 300cc mated to a manual clutch 5-speed transmission (with reverse) compared to the 4-speed of the Daytona). It appears to come similarly spec’ed with fully adjustable suspension, electric start, hydraulic disc braking all around and a chassis designed for track handling.
Since there are no definitive plans to release it here (yet), we can’t provide an MSRP but would suspect it do be in the tune of $4,500.

If, like us, you want to see this one brought to the US, drop Kayo a line using the “Contact Us” link on their official site.
