undefinedNapier Enterprises designed the Sportz Tailgate Tent II to make your camping experience simple without the hassles of setting up a complicated tent. The Sportz Truck Tent is quick and easy to set up and designed to fit in any pick-up truck bed. You no longer have to find that perfect place to set up a tent. The Sportz Truck Tent II keeps you off the ground and you always have a flat surface to set up your tent. Simply pull into your campsite and set up the tent in the bed of the truck.

The Sportz Truck Tent II Tailgate Tent is Napier’s newest design and features more leg or storage room, a larger door, a 6-foot canopy, and easier set up than their older models which do not extend over the tailgate. It also has a sleeve on the backside of the tent to allow access or appliance cords to be run into the cab of the truck. The canopy adds shade to the tent and keeps the sun off you on extra hot days.

The tent itself is made of a wind resistant, fire retardant Taffeta Nylon with a woven polyethylene floor which has a water-resistant coating on both sides. It features 4 zippered windows and a large door, all with ‘No-See-Um’ 100% polyester mesh to keep the bugs out. It also comes with a Taffeta Nylon rain fly for added protection from the weather as well as fiberglass poles connected with shock cording (bungee cord type). It all rolls up into a small bag to keep it all in one place when not in use. Napier also offers accessories like an air mattress, fold up chair, and sleeping bags to make your camping experience comfortable.

Set up is easy. Simply unfold the tent in the bed of the truck with the door facing the back of the truck bed. Using the hooks that are sewn to the tent, hook it to the bed of the truck. Then insert the 2 longest poles in the sewn on sleeves on the roof of the tent in a ‘X’ pattern and then slide the center pole through the sleeves that go across the bed of the truck. Once the poles are in place stick one end in the pockets at each corner of the tent. Then go to the other end of the poles and lift them (erecting the tent) and place them in the pockets. After these 3 poles are in place you need to insert one more pole in the tailgate portion of the tent. When all the poles are in place simply snap the sewn on hooks onto the poles and you are done! The 6-foot canopy section can be rolled up and tied to the tent or pulled out and set up on 2 poles provided with anchoring ropes to keep it sturdy. Simple!

We tried one of the Sportz Truck Tents in the sand dunes of Southern California. On this particular weekend the wind was blowing pretty hard. The Sportz Truck Tent provided a sand free place to get out of the wind and held up great to the 40+ mph wind gusts. The only thing we were concerned about was how the tent slightly scuffed the upper outside edges of the bed. This would only matter when the wind is really blowing. Next time we will lay a bed sheet over the bed rail. The tent held up great in the wind and didn’t let any sand in, which is a major plus when you are camping at the dunes!

If you want a simple tent to enjoy the great outdoors then the Sportz Truck Tents are the right choice for you.
