Watch World’s First Hover Quad in Flight
A Russian drone start-up called Hoversurf has posted a video unveiling a prototype single-seat aircraft designed for recreational flight.
Dubbed the Scorpion-3, the electric-powered hover-quad is clearly capable of lifting both itself and its operator into the air. It combines a traditional ATV design with quadcopter technology (which is commonly seen in drones here in the US), allowing both professionals and amateurs to easily control and maneuver the vehicle.
Also not unlike with drones, the company, via propriety software, is able to limit the range and velocity of the hoverbike to ensure the safety of the operator. Examples would be including keeping the maximum elevation fairly close to the ground until the user feels comfortable maneuvering.
More of this amazing machine can be found on the company’s official site.
