WORCS Round 3 ATV race coverage: E Street MX
Baron on route to a Round 3 victory.

Round 3 of the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC heads north to Marysville, California, for an all-new track at E Street MX. This new location brought fantastic racing with its unique landscape and an excellent moto facility between MMX and E Street MX tracks. Northern California welcomed us with great weekend weather as battles brewed against the best of the best. In Pro-Am, Beau Baron takes the points lead after a win, with Travis Damon just a few points heading into his hometown race of Lake Havasu. Justin Semas finds the top spot again ahead of a stacked Pro-Am Gate, and Torey Matajcich wins against an ever-growing Women’s Pro field.

After quite an eventful round 2 for the top three, they came into this round hoping for a smoother ride to the podium. Baron found himself in the lead after the first lap, and that was all he needed, putting down lap times consistently in the high 9 minutes, growing his lead to just over 20 seconds by the halfway point. Behind him, Braxton Grosse and Travis Damon battled hard as Damon could find his way around Grosse early on, but during their 6th lap, he made a pass stick on Damon and began to track down the race leader. Grosse put down the fastest lap in the second-to-last lap at 9:54, but it fell short of reeling in Baron as he won in the pro class. This win gives him the points lead, being just 3 points ahead of Damon, but with a lot of season left, anything can happen!

In Pro-AM, Glen Helen winner Wyatt Rock had a mechanical early, pulling him out of the race as Rylan Steadman led the race early but also had a mechanical early on, keeping him from finishing. Still, he will be back hungry for that win. Semas took advantage of the early lead, pulling away from the competition as his lead grew with every lap, and by the end of the race, he finished with a lead of just over 3 minutes of second place. Joshua Jackson grabs his first podium of the season in Pro-Am at his first Worcs race. In third place and his first podium of the season, Travis Tarno fights from 8th place up to 3rd, as this also has him sitting second in points for the class.

In Women’s Pro, Matajcich and Layne Fryar battled for the top 2 spots again, with Matajcich pulling out the top spot again as she started season 3 for 3. One of the class rookies, Julyssa Pesquiera, continues to better herself each race, moving up another position and onto the box, finishing ahead of Donna Espensen and Bailey Baron for a 3rd place finish.
