" I wonder if it is easier to just purchase another one"

Nope, not even if you have to spend $30 to get the tool and screws you need, Though it may cost as much as a cheap ebay carb you don't have to wait for it to ship. You don't have to worry if its jetted right (most are shipped too lean). And most importantly YOU DON'T GET THE JOY OF FIXING IT YOURSELF.

Ease-out, when I saw that you wrote that I started laughing. My dad and I built my home a few years ago, though we contracted out a few things, but he would tell me to go get things, but he would use terminology that was of old language or not of college-educated people. So, it makes me feel better that you have now said that. I told my dad I was not going to parts house or home building saying ease-out, that the guy said screw extractor. Having read your post, I went and asked for an ease-out and they knew exactly what I said, so kudos to both of you. I appreciate what you told me about the mm measurement. It is so stupid to seal a bowl, but I know it is so that they can sell you a new carb. They say new EPA regulations require them to do so, but Honda, Polaris, etc... use unsealed, screwed bowls, so that would have to be a lie. As you stated the first time, it is a two screw bowl, but they sealed it just like the video you sent me. I hope you are on here to help others with my problem, before they try to break it open and have to buy a new one. I was almost to that stage, but as I will end, the ease out did the job and I, we, put it back so that it can be opened again if there is another problem. If my daughter is going to let it set up again for months, what is the best way to avoid this? Drain all the fuel, use stabilizer but run the engine to make sure it gets into carb? What do you suggest? Thanks

Mix some stabilizer in the fuel cause you don't want whats in the tank to go bad. Then run the bike a minute or so to allow some of the stabilized fuel in the carb. Shut off the fuel and let it die cause it ran outta gas. The carb should be ok w/o letting the stabilized fuel in but a little extra insurance never hurts.

I can't seem to find the a/f adjustment on my sons 2012 tao tao 150. I don't see where a plug would be to drill out. I only have the idle screw.

the quad had no top end when running. If there is no load it cranks.

The carb is a pz27.

Default New carb for 2013 Tao Tao 125cc F1??????

After reading 2manytoys sticky on adjusting CATV'S carb's am I better off buying a new carb (higher precision machining, possible higher performance) before going through the adjustments laid out by 2manytoys? Vehicle ID plate shows engine family: 12A1T, IDLE mixture: non-adjustable and the carb is stamped TT.5XY.053 - BL211K4 with a sealed float bowl (I would need to drill out mounting srcews). I don't want to waste time with the OEM carb if I'm only going to get "so-so" results for my efforts.

Thank you sbilka, XS 60 is the only number i can find on the carb, the air filter is a large coned mesh filter. but looking at the carb bowl it can be un screwed . not sealed. the makers of this quad is yongkang easy vehicle co., ltd. i will get all the information from the vehicle plate, then post a picture of the carb & place a picture in the garage section. as soon as i work it out that is. thank you very much.

I read through this thread and have been watching vids on adjusting a carb i jave a 200 cc lifan engine. It idles fine and runs good till about 3/4 throttle the it cuts out at full throttle it wants to die. Is this a jetting issue? carb came with the engine.

Yes it is a jetting issue. Your possibly too lean at WOT. Try one thing at a time. Raise the jet needle (lower the jet needle clip position) and try that. If you run out of adjustment and it still doesn't improve you need a richer main jet. Then return the clip position to the middle position.
