Can anyone help... RedCat 90cc starting problem
#1
I have a 2007 redcat 90cc atv, it's 100% complete, i'm getting spark.. it seems to me that it's getting low compression.. (i did the thumb over plug hole trick, it pushes air but hardly any)
I know this can be valves, head gasket, etc but can anyone tell me how to check/adjust these things? forum search doesn't come up with what i'm looking for.. I'd really like to get it running.
and what is the valve settings for a 90cc of this type? I go online and get 10 differant answer.
thanks,
mike

Did you try search "No start" on the forum here.
Also as for adjusting valves youtube has real good videos on how to check and adjust vavles on little honda's which that 90 is a copy of.
Try this one YouTube - How to Adjust Honda 50/70 cc Valves if you search around on youtube you may even find your 90cc engine on there too being worked on. Here is another one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xkXQi_aPuw
To start you need:
Fuel/air
Spark (known good spark plug)
compression (low comopression caused by worn rings or defective or incorrectly adjusted vavles)
Make sure you have all three

Sawyer, thanks for your help. I adjusted the valves yesterday and it started right up with no problems. I haven't had a chance to fool with afterward because I had to go to work. When I got home I walked through my garage, hit the starter and it started right up again. Tomorrow I will start it and make sure I didn't screw anything else up in the valve process.
