Changing Oil
#2
For the ATA-125, I use 15w-40 (Shell Rotella or Wal-mart "SuperTech"). I put 700ml in and that fills it up to the top mark on the dipstick. The diesel oil has no additives that would cause a wet clutch to slip. Others here use Valvoline 10w-40 without any problems. The key is to change the oil often. It is what keeps these little machines alive. As for the 150cc, I don't have a clue.

Yep, the newer Taotao machines recommend 15w40 right on the machine's name-plate. The 110's and 125's do get pretty hot given you've got to force air over the engine to cool it, so a 40wt (or even a 50 like said) is a must.
The 150cc does a better job of cooling itself being fan cooled, but I still use a cheap 15w40 in it. Is there any 'cheap' oil anymore? It's all like 3-4x what it used to be.
