Default Water cooling upgrade!

Hello,

I have Aeon Cobra 180cc atv. This atv is air cooled and with oil cooler. Can I upgrade to water cooling? Is worth the cost? I am asking because I want to do small trips and here in Greece the summer is really hot.

Regards

Does it have provisions in the block and head for water to flow through? Is the engine setup to run a water pump? Are you clever enough to piece together a custom fit cooling system? If no, then no.

Air cooled engines don't have the passages cast into the head and cylinder to allow coolant flow, plus there is no water pump housing or drive, even if you could rig up something, you would need an electric pump to circlulate the water. I agree with mel, very unlikely you can convert it. You could, however, install a bigger oil cooler, like from a motorcycle or even adapt an automotive add on oil cooler, and rig up a fan that is either manual controlled, or if you can find a thermo switch, set it up to run when at a certain temperature. Cooling the oil down will make a big difference on oil life, and the engine will be protected better by removing the heat.

Thanks for the info. I will look for a bigger oil cooler then with fan!
