HELLO EVERY ONE!!

(ATA110) ATV 2007

The ATV will idle just fine it's a 110cc Tao Tao , when I shift to revers it will back up when i give it throttle. The problem is when I shift into Gear it will not go forward it will just sit and rev . like it was in neutral

If I lift the back end off the floor and put it in gear + give it throttle tires will spin once on the floor quit spinning .Hmmm ?

I think its time for a new clutch what do y'all think any help is greatly appreciated thank y'all from North Texas ,

The ATV is not mine a little kid down the road saw me working on my bike and stoped to ask for help his folks are not mechanically inclined don't have a clue

just trying to help out .

 

Does this thing backup under pressure(sitting on it) or just reverse with the rear tires off the floor. If you can ride it in reverse I think your clutch is probably ok. Sounds more like the forward gear is not engaging in the trans or there is more major problems in the trans.

 

It will back up under pressure (wile the boy was sitting on the bike).

 

since you are not familiar with the history, you don't know how it was used. Very probibly you have checked, but just make sure the shifter isn't loose or slipping on the shaft. Seen that a few times. If it does not slip and seems to be engaging then there is very likely some sort of problem in the trans.
