Default Oil spitting out

I bought a Eagle scout 125cc for my son Saturday it has been sitting and the sight glass showed it had no oil so before starting it I stupidly filled it up to fill the glass. After cleaning the carbs, draining old gas and replacing the plug I jumped it off and the float stuck so I tapped the bowl and that solved that.

My problem is that I have oil coming out. I took the chain cover off and about 2 to 3 inches towards the front from the sprocket, oil was being forced out as the engine ran there was a hole like it was cut there. Is it possible that this is an overflow to push out excess oil.

If pictures are needed i can take some tomorrow.

Default Location of leak

I checked the oil using the dipstick and it is a little over and the sight window is a little over 3/4 filled.
It did not have a filter so at current time I covered the filter hose with a cotton piece of underwear to filter until I get the filter no one seem to have one so I ordered one offline.

Red arrow pointing at leaking area.

i can't make it out with the picture, i wished that quad was closer to really inspect it, i'm wondering if that is the mating surface for a gasket on the case seeing how there is a bolt to the left going into the same area.
