Mikuni carb tuning help needed
#1
Hello,
I have a 34mm round mikuni carb on my bike. The bike idels great put as soon as you punch it the bike will bog out and kill the motor. Does it every time. If you are at 1/4 throttle and punch it no problem. The carb has been completely clean. Can someone help me out?

The bike is used and came with this carb on. The carb is on a 250 kazuma falcon 250. I was thinking I needed to go up on the pilot jet size? I believe the main is a 200. Anything about 1/4 throttle is runs good. If you stab the throttle when at idle it bogs right down and will kill the motor.

agreed....so when you say the carb was cleaned, the jets were pulled out and you can see daylight through all of the orifices and down the center of the jets? the needle valve/seat is thoroughly cleaned and the float actuates just fine with the valve? no hangups? right?

The 34mm mik round side is a super popular carb for both two strokes and 4 strokes buy a rebuild kit with the right size jets you can never go wrong with that I also buy 2 sizes up and down for both jets

Took the carb totally apart, all parts removed. Replaced the pilot jet with a 45 and the main with a 210. Better but still have some issues. Also changed out the weights from 21 grams to 15 grams and that made a nice change in lower end take off
