Default ATV Insurance

Howdy,

I bought a little 200 cc quad the other day for next to nothing, fixed it up and she runs great now.

But I have an Issues, its Chinese, now this doesn't affect the quality, because you get what you pay for (i paid 130 bucks), but it does affect the insurance companies I can insure it with.

My own insurance company will not insure it because its not one of the big 6 or even the minor 6 Chinese they allow.

Is there any Brokers that can help me out and get me insured for this little quad?

Normally i wouldn't even care, but its a family quad for going out to public areas where the fishies demand paper.

the Quad is:

Maker: Zhejinag Vongjg Industry Co Limited
Model: YJ-200
Year: 2006
Engine: 200cc

IF you had the same problem or are a broker let me know, i want to get this little fun machine on the trail.

Thanks.

You can try Markel, but the problem you'll run in to is it's just too cheap to insure. You'd be better off just putting money into a savings account and using that.

Completely agree with you, All i'm looking for is liability insurance so i can ride in some public trailed areas where enforcement is abit higher.

The cost of the quad is so low i could care less if it gets trashed, since i paid 130 bucks for it and put in some time fixing it

No, just required to have insurance to operate in public areas (eg Alberta camping areas).
If i was just ripping it up on say private land like a buddy's it wouldn't be an issue

Never knew that. Down here the only thing you need for certain state owned public land riding is a registration sticker.

I'll require registration aswell, but I can't get the registration without insurance, its one of those fun money hole circles.
Honestly for the amount I'll pay a year to get the insurance compared to what i paid for the quad is stupid.
130 for the quad, 170 for insurance, but to do what i want to do with it then i need.

Sounds like you'll have more invested in paperwork than machine.

Have you tried these guys for your 3rd party liability?
Oasis Insurance - OASIS Outdoor Adventure & Sport Insurance Solutions

I did not think they could really turn you down for 3rd party as its required to ride in certain areas?
