Default Shineray 250cc starting problem

Hi all my girlfriend has just but a quad .. It got drove an 1 hour 30minutes home with a few problems but all was sorted then the other night when we was out the quad just cut out while she was riding it but the lights stayed on..we tried charging battery still wouldn't work even when we tried rolling starting it ,it kinda started but couldn't put any revs on..then cut out again..

We have tried since:
New battery
New ht lead
New spark plug
Cleaned carb out
New solenoid
New started relay
All bad connections sorted

We have everything to make a quad run:
Good continuous spark
Fuel
Air

It just the start motor that you can hear chatter
It also every so often pops and spits a flame..so it's definitely got fuel

Any help would be appreciated

Me and my mates have been at it for 4 days and we know a fare share between us

Thanks

Shineray 250cc 4 stroke

Check compression and make sure kill switch isn't shorting.

Thanks for the reply and there's plenty off compression and my mates have said they have had both kill switches disconnected well at least the main one on the right hand side handle bar with the ignition

We have realised before we packed up tonight that the 'like o-ring' between the carb is leaking a little and the pipe towards the engine badly warn

Cheers

What's best way to test kill switch isn't shorting? All the wiring is so shoddy!! And there's leads that arnt colour coded like they should and bunched together with solder

this could be a culprit but remove the kill switch from the bar make sure it's not touching the bar on any spaces and shorting your cdi but the coils reularly shyt the bed on these things as well so check it as well just get a new one for a back up even if you get it running.

find a wire diagram for your cdi and pull the kill switch wire. This way you know you have all kill switches out of the loop. As a temp fix for your gasket and tube. you can take some rtv silicone put a thin film on the mating surfaces and put it back together. Let it dry for the recommended time and see if that helps. If the air leak is bad enough you will never get it started

We have everything that should make it run..fuel air and spark it doesn't make sense...which coil? We're are you from? It's bizzare because my mates know about them and are last resort mate who got chance to come down just stripped my mates quad onto my gfs and still did the same and then left my mate to put his quad back together ha( not good at midnight ,when the throttle was stuck!!) sorry I'm abit blonde to this all ,I'm a car guy what's an ign ?

Gf and mate going shopping tomorrow to a few quad shops etc going to buy a new cdi and a few bits, also a new wiring loom for the sake off it,and going to price up pistons etc if it comes to stripping the engine:/

What about the timing etc would that be a problem?

Thanks for the input!! Anyway.
