2006 baja 90 drive train noises
#1
Hi guys......I bought my son a baja 90 in 2006 and it has worked real well for him! I was thinking of selling it but its making a seemingly drive train noise now and I never sell anything not working. I was sure it was the chain and sprockets because the front sprocket was toast but after replacing them, same thing.
When you start moving , it starts to make a clank, clank, clank that speeds up as you speed up. It sounds like it's coming from the wheels (when I lean over as I drive) but I checked the front wheels and even changed the bearings....no good. I'm going to disconnect the drive chain and rev the engine to hopefully eliminate the rear axle. I'm thinking it's from the clutch or transmission, something inside the covers. Any thoughts on what it could be?
Thanks...

I removed the chain and still hear a noise when revving the engine. (A little fainter though) When I roll the machine ahead with the chain on,clank clank every few inches. Without the chain , I roll it ahead with no noise. Something inside the motor is rubbing. Any suggestions where?
