Tao Tao 110 Barebones Wiring Harness
#1
Hey guys, I've been working on simplifying the wiring on a Tao Tao 110. It was a basket case when I got a hold of it. Essentially reducing the harness to start, charge, and stop. After looking through many diagrams and tracing wires, I think I've got it. However, I don't want to give it a shot and burn something up. Here's where it is. Thoughts? One question, what is the red/white wire. I know it is a keyed power source, but what does it originally go to?

Coil wires

Use the 3 prong switch (power, ground, starter) and the toggle as a kill switch. Will the key kill the engine?

Finally, does the solenoid wiring look correct?

Like I said, this was a basket case, but not my first extensive wiring project. I'm used to working on Japanese bikes that actually have specific wiring diagrams!

So, I got it up and running with no issues. I pulled the ignition switch out of the harness. I wired the red switch to run the starter. Once it's running you switch it off. The kill swim shuts it down. Very simple and much more reliable than the chinese original!

I am trying to do exactly what you have done here. I am struggling to get this quad going for my son. Would you be willing to post some explanation of your wiring and maybe some closer pics? It would be much appreciated by me and my boy
