PLEASE HELP!!!! Edge 90 ATV won't start.

Hello forum!
I'm Rick.
Please I need help, I just got this quad from my neighbor because he wanted to clear out his garage. I can't get it started, this is what happens when i try:
1 - When i press the start button it clicks and it sounds like electricity is going tru and nothing else. I checked the spark plug and no spark and it's a new one.
What could be wrong???

Jump the quad battery to your car using jumper cables. Use extra care to get the polarity right - positive to positive, and negative to negative... Try to start the quad. Any change?

Do you have a meter? What is the DC voltage on the quad battery while you are attempting to crank the quad (i.e. the solenoid is "clicked" in)?

Battery is charging now but it looks like i need a new one. quad has not run in more than 2 years, i tried again while the battery was charging and sounds like it want to start now but i checked the spark plug and still no spark. I will try to jump start in the morning, any idea why no spark? and thank you for helping!!!

A battery that has sat around for two years without being on a maintenance charger is going to be toast for sure...

Is your quad cranking slowly? Perhaps that is the only problem. The CDI trigger voltage and the CDI power (if it is AC powered off the stator) are proportional to engine speed. Both of these are low when the engine is cranking slow. The trigger voltage is especially important because it has a threshold where it triggers the CDI to spark, or it doesn't depending on the trigger voltage level.

How many pins on your CDI? Is this two stroke or four stroke?

Get a meter ready and we can proceed from there once we know what CDI you have...

Yes, it's cranking slow i guess because of the battery not having much power. Here is the picture of what the CDI looks like, it's 4 stroke. 6 pins, I will have to buy a meter.

Got it working and runs great. Carb needed to be clean.

I'm glad you got it working :).
