Default Wiring problems

I have a 110cc 4 wheeler labeled as a Jaguar 110 (No other ID or brand available). The wiring on this thing is on its' last legs. The motor runs great but at present I have no spark. All of the connectors are brittle and every time I touch any plastic connector it comes apart in my hand. Can anyone recommend a decent quality replacement electrical harness? Also I have identified all components on the existing wiring except for one item. I believe it is a relay but for what I don't know. It is a small plastic cased component with two blade connectors at 90 degrees to each other. It is only marked with an "R". The female wiring connection is L shaped. I have not opened the wring harness and traced the lines for this device. The machine has a reverse warning beeper. Would this piece be a part of this feature?
